Christos Boutopoulos completed a PhD in Applied Physics at Athens Polytechnic (Greece) in 2011. As postdoctoral fellow he gained expertise in biophotonics and nanotechnology at Polytechnique Montréal (Canada) and at the University of St. Andrews (UK). In 2016, he established his research laboratory at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital Research Center. He is pursuing a biophotonics research program with translational and fundamental components, which spans the fields of tissue engineering, drug delivery and eye surgery innovation. His lab uses a variety of light-enabled biomedical technologies, including laser-assisted bioprinting, fiber-based Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and nanophotonics.
